Built by Pilots. Designed for Crew.

Crew Dashpads was founded by two airline pilots who experienced crashpad living firsthand — and decided it could be done better.

Who We Are

Crew Dashpads was founded by Daniel and Ashley Scholl, both professional airline pilots who spent years commuting and living in crashpads across the country.

Ashley flies for Delta Air Lines. Daniel flies for Alaska Airlines. Early in our careers, we were commuting to different cities and experienced firsthand what worked — and what didn’t — in crew housing.

We stayed in crashpads that were overcrowded, poorly maintained, or inconsistently managed. We also experienced the rare ones that felt organized, clean, and respectful.

We realized something simple:

Crashpads could be run better.

How Crew Dashpads Began

In 2017, Daniel purchased a home near SeaTac Airport while commuting to Seattle for Alaska Airlines. The property required a full interior renovation — new kitchen, new bathroom, updated finishes, and all new furniture.

The goal was simple: create a crashpad we would personally want to stay in.

Word spread quickly. Demand grew through crew referrals and firsthand experience. While commuting and sitting reserve, Daniel spoke directly with other crew members to refine what truly mattered:

Cleanliness
Respectful environments
Reliable management
Convenience to the airport

That feedback shaped the Crew Dashpads model.

Our Approach

Today, Crew Dashpads operates four professionally managed locations in the Seattle area.

Our core principles are simple:

Affordable
High quality
Convenient

We focus on fully remodeled homes, thoughtfully designed layouts, new furnishings, and fully stocked kitchens to provide an upgraded crashpad experience.

We believe that if you choose to live in a shared crashpad environment, there is a right way to do it — and we are committed to that standard.

Why “Dashpads”

We never liked the word “crash” in a place where crew are meant to rest.

Crew Dashpads was created to represent something better — a professional, reliable housing experience built specifically for airline crew.

It’s the crashpad without the crash.

Where We Are Today

Daniel and Ashley are now based in Southern California and continue to operate Crew Dashpads while flying for their respective airlines.

With over 15 years each in the aviation industry, we understand crew life deeply — and that perspective drives how we operate.

We are building the national standard for airline crew housing, beginning in Seattle.

A Note from Us

We built Crew Dashpads to create the kind of place we would feel comfortable commuting to — clean, organized, professionally managed, and respectful.

We are proud to serve fellow aviation professionals and are grateful for the opportunity to continue improving and expanding the Crew Dashpads model.
